National dealership conglomerate Group 1 Automotive sought to increase inventory parking at its existing Lexus dealership while reducing unused showroom space. Independence Engineering provided design, permitting, and construction administration services, including Conservation Commission and Planning Board approvals, ultimately adding 39 spaces while reducing the development impact on the adjacent stream and wetlands. Construction was completed in December 2020.

Construction management group McCormick Management Services contacted Independence Engineering to facilitate the design and approvals of a warehouse expansion for Star Brothers, Inc., a metal fabricator based in Trevose, Pennsylvania. Independence prepared civil construction plans and obtained variances and site plan approval while avoiding impact to the adjacent Amtrak lines.
National self-storage company SmartStop sought to construct a new facility on an approved lot in Mill Creek, Washington. Plans had been approved by local agencies, but had been prepared by different consulting engineers, and approved at different stages of design. Independence Engineering was engaged to update all municipal approvals and consolidate all individual designs into a set of buildable construction plans. Construction completed May 2022.
National Veterinary Associates is an international manager of local veterinary clinics. When their Morgantown, West Virginia practice was expanding beyond its space, Independence Engineering formed the core of a design team to construct a larger facility on a small lot. Legal challenges included simultaneous landlord improvements and limiting easements. Construction was completed in May 2022.
Supporting a national expansion of Sun Belt Rentals, Moffat Properties engaged Independence Engineering to transform an abandoned truck repair depot into a new General Tools Rental facility. Independence Engineering not only prepared a full site plan with limited information, but completed permitting prior to a major road expansion which would have blocked water and sewer access. Construction was completed in May 2022.
